EMO kid at the corner

Hmmm... Ever wondered about the kid sitting at the corner and just shuts himself up and just looks like the whole world offended him? Well, I met one today. We were receiving our marks back for the preliminary exams. It's actually a she. After receiving them back, her face twisted into mournful sorrow. Goodness, it actually lasted for the whole day. Considering our certain amount of 'closeness', I tried to comfort her when she tried to cover her face. No. Not even the slightest response. That also lasted for the whole day. Seriously, I understand that sulking will make yourself feel better, yet, you seem oblivious to the people who are trying to make your day better. That's making them sulk.

Oh well, that's your loss. 

What is Wasted Time?

My friend and I were on the bus today and she posted this question to me. 'What IS wasted time?' I found it interesting enough to put it up. Do you define it as the productivity in the hours you spend or fulfillment you get every time? Well, I define it as a step. If you waste time, you are not moving forward at all in the future direction you want to move towards. Maybe you would say it is step to reaching your goals in life. 

Many a time people use time so profusely that they fail to see the meaning in it. Time is so precious, everyone knows that! Or do they? Is your time used so that you get a step nearer to happiness, fufillment, or success? Some people can work for as many hours a day and still feel upset that they can't get this, they should deserve that. Are you one of them? 

If the answer is no, you are getting there! You take the steps necessary each day for your plan for success. As much as I'm still learning to not waste time, I urge y'all to learn too;)

The Power of Imagination

To many people, imagination is something crazy and extraordinary. It is where people get their creativity and thoughts from, most of the time. Some take it to the extreme, which results in hallucinations, which I do not encourage. Let's take the Hannibal tv series for good example. The male lead imagines himself in the place of the murderer while solving cases and as much as it being beneficial in solving the crime, it actually got himself messed up, eventually. Not to mention when Hannibal lecter started messing with with his mind every more. Anyway, I feel that adequate imagination can make everyday life be amazing and interesting. I saw a movie, most of teenagers might have seen: Bridge to Terabithia. Two kids with powerful imagination created a world of their own, in the middle of a forest. It would be fun to have a world of your own (without losing yourself in it of course). It helps to clear the mind of reality and gain new insights. Appreciation of all the small little things around you may also surface. 

Well, I quote Owen Wilson, "imagination is so wild, reality is going to be a breeze". (From The Internship, strongly recommend to watch) I think it is true. I guess worry comes a certain extent from imagination. You think of what will happen next and you get the chills, or happiness. 

Therefore, it is all in the mind. 

 

Just decided to share an essay I have just written

My life in 2030

I sit on one of the tall black leather seats at the counter. I shifted uneasily. Everything seems so new to me. I look at the glass cabinets and glanced at the different wine flavours. All of them look very unfamiliar but seem to have a way with seduction. The lights were dim but the mini streaks of light were enough to allow the sight of my own reflection in the glass. 

I looked different. 'Who is that lady with the elongated eye lashes and luscious red lips?' I thought to myself. The hair that crowned my head held blonde highlights and tinges of caramel brown. I had on my velvet black tie dress. It was the apex of my day. So elegant, yet so sharp. I would never have imagined myself in my beginning years to be the charismatic lady I am today. 

I held a job that all ladies at my age would die for, my assets were enough to last me even if I were to retire now. Whatever happened to my dreams of changing the world and saving children from poverty was nothing but child's play. That could not have lasted me or cured my hunger. 

'Miss?' I shook out of my trance and realised that I have been staring at the bartender for a great deal of time. I smiled sheepishly. 

Feeling the heat in my cheeks, I said,'A glass of ice wine please.' 

'Fine choice,' replied he and immediately poured the wine into a crystal glass with delicate angel designs. The blood red cherry balanced precariously on the surface of the liquid. 

With 'Beauty and the Beast' playing faintly in the background and the frosty air penetrating my velvet dress, I took a sip of the wine. It baptized my tongue with a mixture of bittersweet before releasing a burning sensation down my throat. My heart skipped a beat. Satisfaction was immense. 

I deserved such satisfaction. After all, I had been doing so much for others. That little bit was my reward. I took another sip and closed my eyes, my life in 2030 had been a series of twists and turns. Now it's time to settle down.

What is it with vulgarities?

It is just something that I thought of today when I was browsing through some home made youtube videos. Someone please enlighten me about the use of vulgarities, more commonly the f-word. Why is it that more and more people are using it without inhibitions? I see that it is a way for one to release emotions through swearing but does not it defeat the purpose when you use it too often? Strange... I am open to comments about this (no harsh words while commenting please:)) 

About my blog title...

Yes,

My blog title does seem to indicate that I will be talking about romance like it is fairytale or something, but do understand that my blog title has been written a while ago (like seriously, it's been a while), and it was just something I thought of then. Do not tease for I have decided to stick with that title:)
